Athena Calderone is a lover of all things beautiful. She has a keen eye, is a visual creature, and is continually inspired by all that surrounds her. She prides herself on pairing the unexpected in life, design, and the food she creates…her passion for which can be experienced on her blog, Eye Swoon.
Her company Athena Calderone Design has created children’s products sold exclusively at Yoya Mart children’s boutique, and was profiled in the NY Times, and her design of a Mid-Century modern beach house in Amagansett with Bates Masi Architecture will be featured in Elle Décor’s Summer 2012 issue. Athena and her design partner, John Rawlins of Rawlins Calderone Design, are currently working on a duplex penthouse in Dumbo, Brooklyn and a barn conversion in Bridgehampton.
Athena is a passionate cook, locavore, and farmer’s market regular, often drawing inspiration from farm to table restaurants and food blogs, and she is continually increasing her culinary knowledge through courses at the French Culinary Institute.
